AK 42 / AK 42e

The AK 42 offers a wide range of drive options. It is available with a PTO auxiliary drive, as a hybrid crane with an additional 400 V electric motor, or as an electric battery-powered crane with 230 V / 400 V charging technology. In the electric version, the carrier continues to travel to the job site using a diesel engine, while the crane operates on-site quietly and with low emissions using electric power. Thanks to an electric winch, energy recovery, and a large battery capacity, a full workday is possible without recharging.

The AK 42 performs all functions at an incredible speed, is ready for use in no time, and guarantees highly efficient operation. Even when operating simultaneously, the crane functions can be controlled at a consistently high speed.

The AK 42 impresses with its high lateral stability and long range, particularly when handling heavy payloads. For example, it can transport a payload weighing 1.5 tons up to 18 meters away, reaching a remarkable height of 24 meters.

The AK 42's jib is hydraulically extendible and can be extended under load up to 14 meters. Even when fully extended and in a horizontal position, it can support a load of up to one ton.

The ability to raise the crane boom at a 90° angle to the carrier opens up new possibilities for operation. This boom position is also a major advantage when working close to a building facade.

The jib’s 180° articulation expands the AK 42’s range of applications and optimizes its range. It is ideal for handling loads located close to the crane, for platform operations in confined spaces, or for reaching distant locations across buildings.

The robust jib joint enables the AK 42 to have the tower crane function. In this configuration, the mast stands perpendicular to the vehicle and the jib is positioned at a 90° angle to the mast. This allows the AK 42 to be used as a tower crane and to extend horizontally.

The well-designed outriggers provide ample ground clearance and raise the truck crane by 85 cm. Even on sloped ground, the AK 42 remains extremely stable.

State-of-the-art control technology makes operating the AK 42 simple and safe. Features include a reach preview during crane erection, self-levelling, automatic rope tracking, rotation and hoisting angle limits, automatic activation of the tower crane function, and a go-home function.

As an aerial work platform, the AK 42 is compatible with all current Böcker access platforms. This transforms a truck crane into a powerful lifting platform with a payload platform capacity of up to 600 kg in no time.

The AK 42 features a spacious loading platform with fully fold-down side panels for transporting tools and building materials. Cargo can be secured flexibly using tie-down rails. The securing system makes loading easier and saves time.
