The UK based contract lifting service company DSM Contract Lifting based in Essex has taken delivery of its fourth Böcker AK 52 truck crane. The most powerful crane in the Böcker product range features an extension length of 52 m and can handle payloads up to 3.000 kg (opt. 6.000/12.000 kg). It is specified for use with the PK 600-D extendable access platform, allowing up five people in the basket to a maximum radius of 30 m or with one person to 36 m. Standard features include a fully hydraulically extendable jib, wireless colour remote control with automatic levelling, and variable extension of each individual outrigger. The new arrival for DSM is mounted on a 4-axle 32 t carrier vehicle with rear steering for maximum manoeuvrability on site. The AK 52 scores particularly well in city centres thanks to its small slewing radius, which means that road traffic can continue on one lane while the crane is working. There is no need to completely close the road, which is expensive and difficult to organise, as is the case for mobile cranes with comparable performance. Contributing to the uniform corporate design, the new crane has been supplied in DSM’s custom livery.
DSM Managing Director Melvyn Rogers stated: “At DSM we understand the Böcker products very well, our clients like their reach, quick set-up, and safety features. Another AK 52 was necessary to keep up with demand. We’re thrilled with the new machine which takes us up to four AK 52 cranes, which most likely is the largest stock of this machine anywhere! The crane has been busy since it came home and I’m really looking forward to receiving the next two units on order from Böcker UK over the next six months. Placing an order for three cranes in total was an easy decision and is also a testament to the strength of the relationship between DSM Contract Lifting and Böcker.”
