The all-electric Böcker AHK 30e KS trailer crane demonstrated its performance capabilities during the construction of a new logistics hall. The mission was to lift the sandwich panels weighing around 100 kilograms for cladding the wall surfaces of the building shell efficiently and precisely onto the supports of the load-bearing structure. Several challenges awaited the electric crane on the construction site: limited space, uneven terrain in front of the hall, and the desire for emission-free and low-noise operation. Thanks to its long-lasting electric operation, fast hook speed and sensitive control, the AHK 30e KS was able to move the panels safely and quickly to their intended position and proved to be the ideal solution for this task.
Fully electric with battery technology: Drive of the future
The AHK 30e KS is optimally designed for hours of electric construction site operation. It has a completely newly developed drive system that is not only very quiet, but also particularly energy efficient. With a battery capacity of 12.2 kWh and thanks to energy recovery when lowering the load, the crane stores enough energy for an entire working day - in practice, up to 140 lifting operations can be carried out without a power connection. Charging is straightforward via any standard 230 V socket, either overnight or during operation - a clear advantage in terms of flexibility. The AHK 30e KS was thus able to carry out all work steps for the façade cladding of the logistics hall purely electrically in battery mode - from manoeuvring to the installation site and crane assembly to attaching all panels to the wall.
Flexible setup with sophisticated support system
Another key element for successful crane operation on this construction site was the AHK 30e KS's foldable swivelling outrigger. The terrain directly in front of the hall wall was not only sloping, but also uneven due to backfill. This is where the strength of the Böcker support was demonstrated, as it safely compensates for height differences without the need for substructures. The four outriggers can be set up independently of each other at three different angles and offer a ground clearance of up to 50 cm. With the help of the range indicator on the display of the radio remote control, the crane was positioned so that it reached all the desired points for picking up the panels on the floor and mounting them on the wall without having to be moved later. Thanks to the self-levelling system, the crane was finally set up quickly and safely.
3.5 tonner with long reach
With a permissible trailer load of just 3.5 t and its compact design including swivel drawbar, the AHK 30 KS is easy to position even on tight construction sites. Despite its small dimensions, with extension lengths of up to 30 m, payloads of up to 1,000 kg and an endless slewing range, it is a powerful helper for transporting loads at height. With a high hook speed of up to 100 m/min, it can handle all lifting operations in the shortest possible time
Convenient operation with an overview
All crane functions, including automatic levelling and manoeuvring, are operated via the compact radio remote control with two colour displays. The particularly sensitive control system enabled the precise positioning of the large-format and sensitive wall panels during façade installation. In use, the AHK 30e KS impressed with its quiet but powerful operation, its efficiency and its high level of operating convenience.
With its pioneering drive solution, the electric Böcker AHK 30e KS trailer crane has impressively demonstrated during hall construction that emission-free work does not require any compromises - a decisive advantage on modern construction sites with high environmental and safety requirements.
