Crane Hire and Contract Lift company Bandshire located in Huddersfield has taken delivery of two new Böcker AK 42 and AK 48 truck cranes. The new AK 42 and AK 48 crane generation is a real game changer for truck cranes, and features innovative high-tensile steel boom profiles, giving lateral stability for heavy loads, and a clean modern appearance. Both models also feature continuous slewing, as ever with Böcker cranes a minimal tail swing for working in restricted spaces. A 180 degree jib position is now possible, as well as the new tower crane function meaning the boom can erected at a 90 degree angle, enabling loads to be transported horizontally onto building by extending the jib. The cranes are capable of handling loads to 6 t and have a boom and jib combination of 42 m and 49 m respectively. As with all Böcker cranes, when driving on UK roads the cranes front overhang is always less than 2 m meters, for operation under construction and use regulations, which means there is no requirement to have an attendant to monitor the overhang.
Ian Blacker of Bandshire states: "Since purchasing our first AK 46 in 2018, Böcker has become a major part of our fleet serving our customers well with its versatility and quick set up times. Therefore, the decision to purchase two of Böcker’s latest and most innovative machines was a simple one. Furthermore, enhancing Bandshire’s diverse assembly of cranes, which range from mini spiders, truck mounted and all terrains through to 90 t cranes and beyond.”
Bandshire was established in 1988 by Ian Blacker. Today, alongside his two sons Ben and Tom, he operates the business from its headquarters in Huddersfield West Yorkshire, offering contract lifting and crane hire services nationwide.
