Crane technology at your fingertips - CraneDays in Werne

After a break of two years due to Corona, the traditional Böcker CraneDays finally took place again in Werne on the last weekend in October.

Numerous visitors from Germany and abroad found their way to the company headquarters. Well supplied with food and drink, they immersed themselves in the world of crane technology while observing the 3G rules.

The all outstanding highlight of the two days was the AK 52 truck-mounted crane, which achieves large extension lengths of up to 52.00 m (optionally 55.00) and lifts payloads of up to 12 tons. In the 4-axle version, the additional ballasting reduces the crane's outrigger area while maintaining the same outreach. This makes the AK 52 very flexible and space-saving to set up, especially in tight spaces and inner-city work applications. Many visitors let the wind blow around their noses during a ride in the large PK 600-D personnel cage. In the basket, which can be rotated hydraulically by 440°, up to five guests at a time enjoyed the view over the plant premises. Afterwards while standing on the ground with the radio remote control, all the crane functions could be put through their paces.

Other models, such as the AK 37/4000 with its minimum slewing radius, the AHK 30 KSwith foldable swivelling outriggersor the AHK 36 as the class leader among trailer cranes, also made crane hearts beat faster. A special focus during the CraneDays was on the topic of sustainability. The AK 46/6000 as a hybrid crane attracted attention and shone with its 30 kW electric motor. Especially in densely populated areas, the low-emission and low-noise operation represents a considerable advantage. In addition, the sustainable stop-and-go automatic system limits the hybrid crane's power consumption.. By means of an eReady kit, the truck-mounted cranes can be prepared for a later retrofit of the e-drive.

But it was not only the crane technology that excited the guests; the Junior HD 24 K construction hoist with knee joint could also be closely examined. As part of the event, there were also various furniture elevators to discover. In addition to the product demonstrations and social get-togethers, the program included participation in plant tours and free instructions to fulfill the annual training obligation.

Managing Director Alexander Böcker looks back with satisfaction on a great event: "Two successful days are behind us. We are pleased that we were able to welcome our customers and partners back to Werne after such a long time and that many accepted our invitation. It was all the nicer to finally get together again in person. Many of the advantages of our cranes and lifts can only really be experienced up close. Anyone who strolls around our factory premises, takes a look behind the scenes at production and feels the enormous forces of a crane for themselves understands our fascination with crane technology. And when our visitors go home delighted, that is the greatest compliment for us.

We are now looking ahead to Dach+Holz 2022, where we will be presenting three new developments in February. Visitors to the trade fair can look forward to seeing what innovations await them in terms of truck-mounted cranes, trailer-mounted cranes and inclined construction lifts in Cologne!"
