Sustainable production with solar energy and heat pumps

Environmental protection is also a high priority for our construction project at the company headquarters and we are investing in a sustainable energy supply at the Werne site.

Photovoltaic systems with a total output of 465.75 kWp were installed on all new buildings. Together with the 600 kWp photovoltaic system on the roof of the existing production halls, which was installed in autumn 2020, we can cover a significant proportion of our own electricity requirements. The solar panels on the site currently produce around 1067 MWh of green electricity per year, saving 531 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. And the trend is rising!

During the day, around 35% of the green electricity goes directly into our own consumption for sustainable production with a self-sufficiency rate of around 36%. Three air heat pumps utilise the self-produced solar energy for climate-friendly heat generation in the new buildings. The crane assembly hall is heated exclusively by two air-to-water heat pumps, while a further heat pump efficiently supplies the extended inclined lift assembly hall and prototype construction with heat.
