Every Ecosia search removes one kilogram of CO2 from the atmosphere

After a test phase and the resulting good experiences, Böcker decided to pre-install the ecological search engine Ecosia across the company.

Both Ecosia's search results and search ads are delivered by Microsoft's own search engine Bing. Ecosia is a social business that donates the profits generated by each click on ad-supported hits to nonprofit conservation organizations to plant trees worldwide. In July 2020, it surpassed the 100 million tree mark.

Ecosia says it publishes monthly financial reports and explains where search revenue goes. Their servers are more than CO2 neutral powered by 200% renewable energy and their trees remove one kilogram of CO2 from the atmosphere with every Ecosia search. More information about Ecosia is available here.
