There is a huge energy saving potential in the interior lighting of industrial buildings. In order to reduce electricity consumption, Böcker relies on LED technology and replaces the old Illuminants in the production halls with the environmentally friendly alternative. Thanks to their high energy efficacy and luminous efficacy, the LEDs significantly reduce electricity consumption. Due to their long service life, less waste is generated by old lamps and, unlike other light elements, discarded LEDs do not contain mercury.
The replacement of the light sources on the Böcker site is progressing successively, the old lamps in halls 8, 12 and 13 have already been completely replaced by new LEDs. In a further step, 63 lamps in the halls of the aluminum parts production will now be replaced. The environment is delighted about this, because the retrofitting of Halls 10.1-10.3 alone saves an enormous 54,000 kWh of electricity per year, which corresponds to an energy saving of 63%. Annual electricity costs are thereby reduced by around 10,000 euros.
