Hüffermann takes delivery of its first AHK 36e trailer crane with an electric winch at bauma

Alongside lifting technology featuring conventional internal combustion engines, Böcker showcased, above all, the latest electric drive solutions for cranes and hoists at bauma in Munich. A particular highlight was the symbolic handover of the first AHK 36e trailer crane with an electric winch to Hüffermann Krandienst GmbH. The hire company, represented by managing partner Daniel Janssen, service and installation manager Christian Bollien and Sherwin Mofid from the international sales team, was delighted to announce the new addition to its hire fleet at the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery.

As part of the Hüffermann Group, which operates nationwide, Hüffermann Krandienst offers bespoke solutions for every challenge and is a full-service provider in the fields of cranes, heavy-lift haulage and project engineering. The company relies on state-of-the-art equipment and has been investing continuously in Böcker crane technology since 2018. Its extensive rental fleet now includes 32 trailer cranes of the AHK 36 and AHK 30 KS models, as well as a AK 37 truck crane. Böcker cranes are particularly popular with roofing contractors, carpenters, façade and metalwork specialists, or when used in combination with glass suction systems for glass installation.

With the new AHK 36e electric trailer crane, Hüffermann is once again expanding its product portfolio to offer its customers another option in the field of electric cranes. Looking to the future, Christian Bollien sees the AHK 36e as the perfect addition: “Particularly in city centres and densely populated areas, local authorities and municipalities are increasingly demanding electric machines. The AHK 36e is also the ideal solution for our hire customers when working in halls or on traffic-free islands.”

When selecting the right trailer crane, Hüffermann opted for the latest generation of the AHK 36e trailer crane. It stands out thanks to its forward-looking electric drive concept, which offers high efficiency and an electric winch. The crane’s extremely low energy consumption, combined with a powerful battery capacity of 12.2 kWh, ensures sustained operation without a mains power connection. Thanks to its electric winch, the AHK 36e not only requires very little energy, but also recovers energy when lowering the load and feeds it back into the battery. With a battery capacity of more than 10 hours under normal use, the electric crane can operate flexibly and independently on the building site throughout the day. The electric winch also enables impressive rope speeds of up to 100 m/min, making the lifting of loads even faster and more efficient. After work or whilst in operation, the crane can be conveniently charged using a standard 230 V domestic socket. If required, the boost function also increases the charging speed.

Furthermore, Hüffermann’s latest addition is fitted with work lights, perimeter lighting and warning lights on the outriggers. The tow bar can also be hoisted into inaccessible areas using the crane eyes on the chassis. Thanks to the hook camera at the top of the boom, the operator always has a clear overview and can keep an eye on areas with poor visibility via the colour display on the radio remote control. The charging station for the battery and the spare battery for the radio remote control is housed securely in a separate, lockable control box.

With the new AHK 36e, Hüffermann continues to rely on Böcker’s tried-and-tested technology – now also fully electric. “We’re receiving a lot of positive feedback from our customers. Böcker trailer cranes are very intuitive to operate, and thanks to their ease of use, we can even hire them out without the need for an operator,” says Daniel Janssen, explaining the benefits for the hire business. “They have a wide range of applications and are extremely versatile. A key advantage for us is that it is mounted on a trailer with a gross vehicle weight of just 3.5 t. This means customers can collect it themselves. The ease of maintenance and reliability of the Böcker cranes ultimately mean high cost-effectiveness and a quick return on investment for us. And thanks to the electric drive, we are now even better positioned and can tap into further areas of application for our customers. The AHK 36e with an electric winch is therefore an ideal addition to our rental fleet.”
